Jelly Bean Junction Preschool
The South County Family YMCA's Jelly Bean Junction is located at the South County Resource Center near Manatee Community College in South Venice.
We provide quality child care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
Our hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Our teachers hold CDAs as well as further training acquired on a monthly basis. We have participated in the Infant & Toddler Initiative and Literacy Initiative through the School Readiness Coalition of Sarasota. We have low teacher:child ratios in all of our classrooms.
Our VPK classroom follows the Sarasota County School calendar with a class ratio of 1:9 during VPK hours of 9:00 AM-12:00 PM.
YMCA JBJ uses Creative Curriculum and the School Readiness Express. We do yearly Ages & Stages Questionnaires and will begin LAP Assessments quarterly.
Any children in need of special services will be referred to outside agencies. We have an open door policy for all children & families and have a strong parent involvement.
